Hi, I’m Johnny Bean—a Senior Technical Writer and Editor with a passion for making complex technical concepts clear, accessible, and user-friendly. With a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Technical Writing Certificate from Northeastern University, I’ve built a strong foundation in communication, paired with specialized technical expertise.

My career started at Excel Switching, a fast-paced start-up where I was the sole writer. That experience shaped my ability to work independently, think proactively, and collaborate effectively—all qualities that have defined my 30-year career. I take pride in delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision, allowing my team, supervisors, and subject matter experts to focus on what they do best.

In today’s rapidly evolving landscape, I thrive as a technical writing leader. My work enhances user experience, improves efficiency, and helps businesses adopt new technologies with confidence. No matter the project, I’m committed to clear, impactful communication that drives success.

When I’m not using my Tech Writing skills, I enjoy watching English League soccer, reading, and exploring the vibrant community of Sarasota, Florida, where I currently live with my wife.
